Bridging the gap between Embryology and Patient Understanding.

Meet the Team

Meet: Camilla Janke

With a passion for embryology and patient education, I am a qualified Senior Embryologist with seven years of experience working in IVF laboratories. Throughout my career, I have worked across several leading fertility clinics in Cape Town before relocating to the United Kingdom, where I most recently worked at one of London’s largest and most established IVF clinics.

My experience in the UK provided an opportunity to further develop my clinical expertise, scientific knowledge and professional skills, while gaining valuable experience within a highly specialised and internationally recognised fertility environment.

I am a registered Clinical/Medical Scientist with both the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the United Kingdom and the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I hold a Master’s degree in Reproductive Biology, reflecting my advanced academic training and specialist knowledge within the field of reproductive science.

Through my embryology practice, I am passionate about making the science behind fertility treatment more accessible to patients. I understands that IVF can be an overwhelming and emotionally complex experience, particularly when faced with unfamiliar terminology, laboratory results and difficult questions about treatment outcomes.

My approach is centred on education, clarity and personalised support. By helping patients understand what happens within the embryology laboratory and how their laboratory results relate to their individual treatment journey, my aim is to empower patients to feel more informed and confident when navigating their fertility care.

Embry Fertility is an independent embryology care and support practice. We believe that every patient deserves to understand what is happening behind the laboratory doors during their fertility journey. Our embryology consulting practice provides personalised, independent and compassionate support to help patients navigate the science behind IVF with greater clarity and confidence. From preparing for treatment and understanding the embryology laboratory, through to receiving laboratory updates and making sense of results after an IVF cycle, we are here to help translate complex embryology into clear, accessible information. Through personalised consultations, ongoing cycle support and post-cycle debriefs, we provide a safe and confidential space where patients can ask questions, understand their laboratory reports and feel more informed throughout their journey. Our goal is not to replace your fertility care team, but to complement your care by helping you understand the laboratory aspects of your treatment and feel more confident engaging in conversations with your fertility specialist.
